Background:

Many workpieces that could benefit from the advantages of electrochemical grinding are often larger than the work envelope of the standard machines that Everite offers. In these instances Everite works with other machine tool builders that specialize in large equipment.

Manufacturing Challenge:

Large workpieces that have close tolerance requirements can be a real challenge. Everite recently completed a project requiring .002 tolerances on a 3-axis contour on a workpiece over 10 feet long and 6 feet wide.

Solution:

Everite Machine Products standard product offering includes an Electrochemical Tube Cutoff Machine. The Electrochemical Tube Cutoff Machine automatically advances the work for preset cutoff length and employs electrochemical technology for burr free cutting. The Everite Electrochemical Tube Cutoff Machine provided a simple means, addressing the full family of parts, for accurate, burr free cut to length filtration components. The parts were electrochemically cut effectively and efficiently, maintaining structural integrity, and completely eliminating burrs. Cost savings and productivity improvement, through elimination of secondary operation burr removal, provided the customer with very significant advantages.
